Lab Philosophy.

We seek to create a open, collaborative, and creative place to exchange and explore new ideas. Our group is small but collaborative—to survive and compete with larger labs we must put our minds together and be smart, efficient, and innovative.

We encourage diverse perspectives. We welcome good scientists from all walks of life, irrespective of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, socioeconomic status, nationality, disability status, or academic level.

We believe in failure. There is always something to learn from a failed experiment. Some of the most innovative lab projects have emerged from experiments that went in an unintended direction.

We believe in tinkering and having fun with discovery. Exploring where the project leads…

We take the time to do the job right. More importantly than being first to the finish is taking the time needed to ensure the rigor of our results.

We believe in openness and collegiality, in sharing our reagents and methods, in maintaining a respectful and supportive lab environment.
